About Marion Municipal Airport
Marion Municipal Airport has been a cornerstone of aviation in central Indiana since its origins in the late 1920s during the Golden Era of Aviation. What began as a small grass strip evolved into a modern general aviation facility, with official public operations launching in the 1950s.
Today, we proudly serve as one of Indiana’s premier regional airports — recognized as the state’s best in 2015. Strategically located just three miles southwest of Marion in Grant County, and conveniently off I-69 between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, we offer accessible, flexible, and affordable solutions for pilots, businesses, and visitors.
Our 506-acre campus supports a vibrant mix of general aviation, flight training, fuel services, hangar space, and corporate operations. Home to Air Marion, Inc. — a family-owned full-service FBO since 1979 — we provide exceptional customer service including maintenance, flight instruction, and event hosting.
With around 50 based aircraft and thousands of annual operations, we connect our community to the skies while supporting local businesses and economic growth. The City of Marion’s Board of Aviation oversees operations with a clear mission: to make Marion Municipal Airport the most well-regarded regional airport in Indiana.
